| A survey of the history and development of the orchestra and its repertoire from the Baroque to the present, focusing on works commonly performed by American orchestras. In conjunction with concert attendance requirements, special attention is given to works performed by area orchestras. In addition, various business, legal, cultural and artistic aspects of the modern American orchestra are addressed.
